USAID's Humanitarian Assistance program provides child protection through a community-based approach, assists victims of torture, helps prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and Avian Influenza, and strengthens the capacity of local organizations to provide humanitarian services to meet emergent needs among vulnerable populations.
